Rachel’s equipment for Friday’s concert – check
As we embark on our next adventure, I wanted to take a moment to fill you in on some of the amazing things that have been happening over the last several months, plus some upcoming events.
Rachel’s debut CD “Listen”
First – Rachel’s debut CD “Listen” is out and available for your “listening” pleasure! See link below to purchase the CD or buy the download, or just give it a preview to make sure you’ll love it as much as I believe you will!http://rachelflowersmusic.com/discography/listen
“Hearing is Believing”
The documentary film about Rachel, “Hearing is Believing,” has completed its scheduled theatre run and is now available in VOD, DVD, and Blu-ray. It has been quite a ride, from meeting Lorenzo DeStefano at Squashed Grapes back in January 2014 through 2 years of filming, then editing, theatre screenings, and now it is out there! Plus, the latest big news is that an international distribution deal has been struck, so Rachel’s European fans won’t have to wait much longer! Thank you for your patience!
The soundtrack album to “Hearing is Believing” is ending production and will be released soon! This album includes 5 of Rachel’s original compositions which can’t be found anywhere else, plus a variety of covers, collaborations with guest artists, original songs by each of her parents (Dan and myself)… I have to say, it came out pretty darn great! Dweezil Zappa was kind enough to provide the liner notes – worth it for that alone, and the live recording of Frank Zappa’s “Montana” from Rachel’s guest appearance with Dweezil Zappa’s band in Las Vegas! More details to come!
“Keith Emerson – A Musical Celebration of his Life”
And at this very moment, we are preparing for Rachel’s appearance in Birmingham England at the greatly anticipated concert, “Keith Emerson – A Musical Celebration of his Life.” Rick Wakeman, Lee Jackson, Thierry Eliez, Marc Bonilla, Noddy’s Puncture… It’s a bit overwhelming! Rachel will be performing with a 60 piece orchestra on two of Keith’s pieces, and with Lee Jackson, the original bassist with The Nice, on one of their classics! Do you think maybe Rachel is excited about this? http://www.careaftercombat.org/event/keith-emerson-a-musical-celebration-of-his-life
The Rachel Flowers Trio at Squashed Grapes
If you want to hear The Rachel Flowers Trio, they will be performing in a more intimate setting at Squashed Grapes, Ventura on August 26th! Rachel on piano with Paul Tavenner on drums and Jeff Falkner on bass… honestly, you never know what to expect with this group. Rachel Flowers originals, Prince, Miles, Adele… some ELP at times. You just never know! Saturday August 26, 7 – 10 p.m. Squashed Grapes 2351 East Main Street Ventura, CA 93003 (805) 643-7300 http://www.squashedgrapes.com
Finally, even though it’s still a few months away, I have to mention ProgStock! Rachel is scheduled as one of the opening acts for this new progressive rock festival, and we need everyone’s help to get it off the ground. Tickets are on sale now! Three days of great music by refreshing new bands, in comfortable venues with great sound. This will be Rachel’s first trip to New Jersey and she is really looking forward to it! http://www.progstock.com/2017/tickets-merchThat’s it for now! Thank you for all of your support! Hope to see you out there! Jeanie
